From 12 noon to 5 pm, there will be unique, rare and surprising items to discover: Costumes spanning decades of theatre history, worn by characters from a hundred different worlds, as well as posters and programmes from the last 40 years, will be on sale. Also on offer are stage set elements and decorative pieces, unusual furniture and props straight from rehearsals and productions, and lighting and sound equipment for hobbyists, professionals and the curious.
Those looking for the extraordinary will also find what they’re after: boats, old suitcases, unusual chairs, slot machines, sewing machines, rocking horses and much more tell the story of the imaginative world of theatre.
And there’s plenty going on around the edges too: you can relax and linger over cakes and drinks. There’s also face painting, a painting table and a table tennis table for visitors of all ages. A special highlight: bring your own T-shirt or jute bag – we’ll print selected theatre motifs on them on the spot.
Admission is free. Proceeds from sales will go directly towards the Theatre an der Ruhr’s work with children and young people, as well as its partnerships with schools and other organisations in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
Do drop by, have a browse, take a piece of theatre home with you – and support a good cause in the process.
